By connecting your bank accounts and transaction data to the Dobin app, you gain access to a consolidated view of your finances and receive personalised recommendations for relevant discounts and financial products tailored to your unique financial situation.
Keying in and saving your bank credentials to enable Dobin to display your data can seem daunting at first. Rest assured, you have the flexibility to decide how to manage this.
If you prefer the convenience of saved bank credentials to refresh your financial data more quickly, these credentials will be securely stored in your Apple Keychain (for iOS users) or the Android Keystore (for Android users). Alternatively, if you choose not to store your credentials, you can manually enter them when needed.
The Dobin app will prompt you to anonymously share your transaction data as it helps support our data analytics capabilities. If you consent to data sharing, Dobin will anonymise the data before uploading it to our server, ensuring that it can never be linked to your identity.
However, if you decide against sharing your data, rest assured your data will remain on your device and will never be stored on our servers.
To ensure the highest level of security when connecting your bank account to Dobin, and during subsequent data refreshes (i.e. to see your latest transactions and account balances reflected on Dobin), access to your data will be implemented with a second layer of security. This is otherwise known as two-factor authentication or 2FA.
At the start of Dobin’s bank connection process, you will either authorise the connection through your mobile banking app or enter an OTP sent by your bank through SMS.
It is important to note that the Dobin app is not able to establish a connection to your bank account without your explicit consent. Each time you attempt to connect or refresh your account through Dobin, two-factor authentication will be required for added security.
Alongside all these protective measures, the Dobin app has been carefully designed to access your bank accounts strictly for the purpose of reading your information.
This means we can never make any transactions on your behalf nor instruct your bank for any account-related actions.
Dobin’s mission is to help you achieve financial well-being by bringing you financial visibility and personalised deals. Access to your bank account is strictly used to aggregate your financial data, to further empower you on this journey.
Furthermore, we also ensure that only you have access to your financial data by requiring Face ID, Touch ID, or PIN entry to unlock your Dobin app. As an extra security measure to safeguard against prying eyes, the app will automatically lock itself after 30 seconds of inactivity.
Our app harnesses multiple levels of encryption to ensure that no one can access your data without your permission. At Dobin, we have made significant efforts to maintain transparency in the handling of your data.
We strictly comply with Singapore's regulatory requirements, including adherence to the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) to ensure that all your data is protected, and exclusively used for the purposes you have authorised.
Ultimately, our aim is to put you back in the driving seat and help you make smarter decisions, guided by enhanced financial visibility across your accounts. We aim to be transparent about what data we are using and what we are doing with it. You can rest assured that we will always ask your permission before proceeding to take any action.
At Dobin, we grant you full control over your data and privacy management. We firmly believe that you should have the flexibility to make key decisions regarding your data at any point. Whether you’ve previously granted access to your data or not, you can always change it later within your Settings.
Dobin empowers you with the capability to stop storing bank credentials at any time, revoke data sharing with Dobin, erase all bank account information from our platform, and even delete your Dobin account entirely.
